Welcome to Busa Eco Essentials! Our mission is to source quality, eco-friendly alternatives to essential everyday products. We are a family owned and operated, Canadian business, that provides shipping to many countries worldwide. We have a background in business and biology, and with these combined skills, we strive to do the research required to make sure the products we provide are accurately described and the information throughout our site can be backed by legitimate sources.
Our primary focus is on bamboo. Bambusa vulgaris is the scientific name for common bamboo, from which our brand "Busa" originated. In addition to bamboo products, our aim is to source essentials that are made from materials that are biodegradable, compostable, recycled, or more sustainable. As there are not always great alternatives for plastics, we may source some items that are made from plastics BUT are reusable, saving tons of single-use plastics from entering the landfill on a daily basis. For small plastic components, we provide suggestions on how to dispose of those in an eco-conscious way.
The truth is, every type of material or processing comes with some cost to the environment, there is no way to truly get around it (no matter what anyone tries to tell you). What we can do is choose products that have a lesser cost over another, and eventually better choices will hopefully mean a better world! Periodically, we may also source items that have a scientifically studied wellness factor… because our bodies need to be healthy, along with the planet!
Another component of our business model is to give back, so we have decided to donate a portion of every sale to a cause. See our "Supported Causes" page for more information.
